We’re proud to share that Quality Magazine has published our article, “Rethinking Quality: Why Additive Manufacturing Must Grow Up to Move Forward” (July 2, 2025).

In it, we challenge the outdated idea that Additive Manufacturing (AM) is just a fast, flexible prototyping tool, powerful, but inconsistent. We argue that when quality is treated as the foundation, industrial 3D printing becomes a credible option for production at scale.

The article digs into:

  • Why the “print-and-ship” mindset holds AM back, and why early design consultation matters
  • How engineering for AM and advanced finishing (like vapour smoothing and vibro-polishing) close the gap with injection moulding
  • Why repeatability, traceability, and manufacturing discipline are non-negotiable for industrial adoption

“This lack of focus on quality has become the single biggest obstacle to the broader adoption of AM for end-use parts.”
